Intentional Living: Designing a Feeling
There’s something powerful about walking into a room and immediately feeling something.
Not just seeing beautiful furniture.
Not just noticing the artwork.
But feeling the space.
For this living room transformation, the vision was clear: warm, elevated, artistic, and lived-in—without sacrificing personality.
The goal wasn’t to create a room that simply looked luxurious. It was to create a space that felt inviting, expressive, and completely intentional.
Where Color Sets the Tone
The rich terracotta feature wall became an important foundation for the design.
Warm, expressive, and full of character, the color instantly brought depth into the room while creating the perfect backdrop for the oversized abstract artwork.
From there, the palette began to tell the story.
Soft neutrals created balance.
Bold black accents added contrast.
Touches of gold introduced warmth and sophistication.
Every element had a purpose.
Texture Changes Everything
One of my favorite parts of this space is the layering of texture.
Velvet. Metallics. Soft neutrals.
Each material brings a different feeling to the room, creating dimension and visual interest without making the space feel overwhelming.
Then there’s the statement rug. 🧡
It anchors the entire room, adds another layer of warmth, and helps bring all of those colors and textures together.
And of course, the accessories.
Because sometimes it’s the smallest details that give a room its personality.
Sculptural Pieces With Personality
The furniture selections were intentionally sculptural and unexpected.
Rather than filling the room with traditional pieces, we introduced shapes and silhouettes that feel artistic and distinctive.
That’s an important part of my design philosophy:
Your home should look like you—not like everyone else.
Trends can inspire a design, but personality is what makes it yours.
The Transformation Is More Than Decorating
And then there’s the BEFORE. 👀
Because when you see where this room started, the transformation becomes even more meaningful.
The space didn’t need more square footage.
It needed vision.
It needed a thoughtful approach to color, scale, texture, furniture placement, artwork, and styling.
It needed someone to look at what was already there and see what it could become.
That is the beauty of intentional design.
You don’t always need to completely change the structure of a space.
Sometimes, you simply need to change the way you see it.
This Is Designing a Feeling
For me, interior design has never been about simply making a room prettier.
It’s about creating an environment that supports how you want to live, gather, relax, entertain, and feel.
This space is warm.
It’s sophisticated.
It’s artistic.
It’s inviting.
And most importantly, it has personality.
This is more than decorating.
This is transformation.
This is designing a feeling.
And that is the power of intentional living.
